Short-toed Snake-Eagle

Perching Snake Eagle

Back in Spain, this is a Short-toed Snake Eagle. Not sure where the “short toed” comes from, but we did see this species eating a snake along the road. This is not a common raptor and we were fortunate to get some close up shots.
