American Pygmy Kingfisher
We saw American Pygmy Kingfishers a number of times while canoeing in the canals near the Sacha Lodge. They were usually perched on a branch over the water and were quick to disappear when we came into view. I honestly was surprised by the diminutive size of these kingfishers! Some hummingbirds we saw are larger than this bird!
