I went out onto Motueka spit [3kms walk each way] in the weekend to see the 2000-3000 Bar-tailed Godwits that roost here on a very high tide. These Dotterels nest along here as well. I noticed the white flag on this little bird and it wasn’t until I looked at my images on the computer at home that I realised that this bird has a transmitter on it. This is the 1st time I have seen one on a bird. There isn’t any data on it yet as it has recently had this fitted onto its back.
