I was hanging out at the northeast corner of Lincoln Memorial Garden hoping to see the pileated woodpeckers when I spotted a bald eagle landing in a tree on the adjacent property. I waited for a while hoping it would move to where I could see it, but it was out of sight. I moved a little closer where I could finally see it and before I could take a shot, it flew off. Luckily, it made a few passes over Lake Springfield and I was able to get this bird-in-flight shot.
