We stopped near a ravine with sandy cliffs at one end to see Burrowing Parakeets. We hiked quite a way and then spotted two Burrowing Parakeets in one of the burrows. Immediately upon spotting them, they flew away and did not return. We were all quite disappointed – until we drove into town. Burrowing Parakeets were everywhere in town! Flying over in groups, perched in bushes, sitting on power lines, calling constantly!
This one was in a group of three that was perched on a bare branch near a tree top.
