We had to wait quietly for about 15 minutes before this Grass Wren felt comfortable enough to pop up out of the reeds and sing for us at the Laguna Himez near El Calafate. What a proud little bird!
(When I tried to list this bird here on Great Bird Pics, Grass Wren was not a choice. Mike recommended that I list this as the Sedge Wren for the time being and explained the Grass Wren and the Sedge Wren (Cistothorus stellaris) were formerly treated as conspecific. They were split based on the results of a molecular phylogenetic study published in 2014 and the split was accepted by the various authorities in 2018, 2019 and 2021. Recording this here so this listing can be edited after the GBP dataset is updated.)
