I have written before about some of the challenges in photographing hummingbirds. This shot is one of those that just missed being really good. The hummingbirds are a Buff-winged
Starfrontlet on the right and a Collared Inca on the left. If the Collared Inca would have just turned his head slightly so that his gorget really glowed and the Starfrontlet would have slid slightly to the right so the wings of the two birds did not overlap, this would have been a really great shot. This demonstrates why taking these images at 60 frames per second is sometimes not enough.
Shot in Colombia at Glamping Colors de mis Reves. It also demonstrates why Deb and I keep going back to the same spot. Always a better image to be had.
