I really like this photo and I think it has a pretty good shot at winning the contest. What a strange looking bird with bullseyes for its eyes. I know that you are from New Zealand and not Australia, but your entry reminds me of Crocodile Dundee when he says “that’s not a knife” and then he shows them a real knife except you’re saying to the other contestants “that’s not rain, THIS is rain.”

I like this one better than the more wide angle of your other King Vulture. The bone sticking up on the right side also adds a feeling of place to the image.
