I was told that there were blue-winged teals on pond at the Prairie Center portion of Lincoln Memorial Garden, but I knew that this was not one of them. This photo isn’t as sharp as I would have like because it was pretty far away and I had to do some editing to make up for the fact that I had forgotten that my exposure compensation was set at +1.0 from some night photography. However, this is the first pied-bill grebe I have photographed, so I was happy to get the photo. This bird really was able to dive deep and stay under the water for quite a while.
