Wood Stork

Wood Storks and Friends

Viewed 3 Times

I was driving down Immokalee Road, east of Naples, FL when I passed a group of wading birds in the ditch along the road. I stopped the car at a distance and took several photos, inching a bit closer every few minutes. It’s not often that a group of Wood Storks, Snowy Egrets, Great Egrets, Roseate Spoonbills and White Ibis are together in one small water hole! (There was even a Limpkin there, but didn’t make it into this image.)

So I finished taking photos and slowly made my way back to my car. As I did so, another car stopped much close to the birds, a man jumped out, grabbed his camera, slammed his door and ran over to also take pictures of the birds. However, in his rush he surprised everyone and they all flew off!
