This bird is mainly seen in west Africa, it is also known as violaceus planting water. It lives in jungles of west Africa. These birds are located on tree top, they are shy, 48 cms in length and a long tail of 4cms. The plumage is glossy violet, yellow forehead, chestnut crown, white ear coverts. It mainly eats fruits and figs.
They breed in rainy season. Female lays 2 eggs in a filmsy tree platform. both parents take care of the eggs and Hatchings. They are social birds and travel in flocks of ten to twelve.
