We went birding at the Crew Bird Rookery Swamp Trail, which is about 15 mile east of Naples. The ponds were drying up, due to the lack of rain for months. The low water concentrated the fish, the alligators, the snakes and the birds.
It was interesting to watch this Roseate Spoonbill feeding while it was closely watching a nearby alligator.
