This Kite is large but compact striking kite. It has a white head and breast With a chestnut body and white primary. The sexes are similar but female is larger. The tail is pale and brown with a white tip in flight it shows a roboust body, small head, broad wings and round tail. In Austallia it is known as a red backed sea eagle medium size bird of prey. The breeding season is December to April, they are solitary nesters means they nest in the same area year after year, they built their nest in tall tress near water area. The incubation is 28 days Chicks leave the nest after 43 days.
