The great blue heron finally landed in an open area, but I still had to take the shot through a fence. My autofocus was not working worth a darn all day and it was really hard for me to hold my camera and 150-600mm zoom lens in my right, arthritic hand while focusing with my left hand. As a result, the focus wasn’t as good as I would have liked. Note the butterfly just to the right of the bird’s feet.

In spite of the autofocus issues you still ended up with a pretty good shot of the GBH.
