We went birding at the Crew Bird Rookery Swamp Trail, which is about 15 mile east of Naples. The ponds were drying up, due to the lack of rain for months. The low water concentrated the fish, the alligators, the snakes and the birds.
It was cool to see this Snowy catch and consume a fish!
Thanks for all the Snowy Egret shots! I like the 3 in 1 of the plumage. On this pic the feet are a very interesting field mark and they need a little bit more room at the bottom.
The snowy breeding plumage is certainly remarkable! Agreed regarding the feet! When I took the photo, I was thinking about the fish that was being eaten and at that moment didn’t pay enough attention to the feet.
