Still in Vietnam. While it would be nice to have every bird or animal pose with great lighting, great background and interesting pose, that is seldom the case. If I only took and processed that type of image, I would certainly reduce my workload by 99%. However, when I see a bird that is so beautiful or unique, there is no question I am going to take the shot and then process it as best can be done. Granted, you cannot “make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear”, but the beauty of the bird overrides the deficiency of the shot. IMO, this is an example of that. A Red-headed Trogon. Trogons of different species are common in Central and South America, but this one, with the predominant brilliant red color is unique.
