This parrot is found in new guinea and Indonesia ans also in Australia. It is still a common bird in many areas. This parrot feeds on fruits, seeds, nuts, berries, leaf buds blossoms and necters all of which are provided on tree tops.
The eclectus parrot provides one of the most extreme examples of plumage between sexes for many years male female male female were regarded as two different species, unlike most parrots the female is brighter, bright scarlet with blue band across the chest and back while the male is green.
