Atlantic Puffin Taking Off

Perhaps the southern most location of nesting Atlantic Puffins in the US, Eastern Egg Rock Island in Maine offers a great opportunity to see and photograph Puffins. True, you can’t disembark the boat, but, Machias Seal Island, further north (where you do and access a blind), is totally booked for 2025. While a longer focal length lens is recommended, there were times when these birds were close enough to the boat to make locating one with a long lens challenging.
