It is the member of the starling family found in much of the Indian sub continent. It can be easily recognised by the turf of feathers on its forehead that form a frontal crest it is related to jawan myna and pale billed myna. The breeding season is in summer before the rains. The clutch consists of 4 to 6 turquoise blue eggs. Both sexes take part in the nest building, incubation and feeding the young.
