This Medium size sunbird has a slight curved bill with the male sporting a deep purple and metallic blue sheen it has blackish wings and underparts minus the sheen female has sandy grey brown above. It lays 2 to 3 brown eggs in an oblong pouch of grass. The incubation is for two weeks.
