I am often asked why I keep taking photos of the same type of bird when I already have 100’s or even 1000’s of images of the same bird. I admit, I sometimes ask myself that same question. Here is an example. This is an American Coot, one of the most common birds in North America. Typically reviled, they are not pretty, make big messes, and often photobomb when I am trying to take photos of other ducks and waterfowl.
This image struck me though when I saw this bird coming. I was set up with my camera mounted on a tripod just above water level. The bird was curious and kept swimming toward me.
What about you? Would you have taken and processed this?
