Life can be tough in nature. This is a Black-crowned Night Heron, a common wading bird that is found world wide. I photographed these birds in Vietnam at Thung Namh Bird Park where there a literally 100’s of wading birds that have built nests. Black-crowned Night Herons are not the most common bird here, but certainly are present in numbers. The first image is of a bird coming back to roost. Look at its leg. Unknown accident, but I am always suspicious of an encounter with fishing line.
