Taking photos of birds in flight (BIF) has become much easier with the development of modern mirrorless cameras. The tracking abilities of modern autofocus systems is so much better than those of cameras just a few years ago. Now, for me, an image of a bird in flight does not automatically become a great photo. There has to be something interesting and good in addition to the bird just flying. This image, a Cassin’s Kingbird, ordinarily would not be that interesting. Just a bird flying against blue sky. However the image does show a “side” of the bird rarely seen. The underside of the bird including its wings are a beautiful pale yellow. I like that.
