One of the birds I was most interested in photographing on our North Dakota tour was the Lazuli Bunting. This is a bird that is occasionally seen in So California during the winter, but it is uncommon. In the highland area of central North Dakota (hard to believe there is a “highland” area in ND, but we were actually photographing near a ski area), these birds nest and are relatively common. I love the subtle, almost pastel, colors of the male. Processed in PS with little done. Cropped about 50%.
