Hummingbirds occasionally perch in my nearby dogwood tree before or after visiting one of my feeders. Sometimes they’re just hiding there after being challenged by another hummingbird. Sometimes they’re just waiting in line for their turn. Most of the time, they will not share the feeders with other hummingbirds. I took some pictures of a perching hummingbird, but I ended up selecting this one in flight because the bird’s wing structure seemed to complement the structure of the dogwood leaves.
