Ross's Goose

One of these is not like the others – Contest

Viewed 76 Times

A lone Ross’s Goose raises his head amongst a large flock of Canada geese. I really like how this image draws you immediately to the Ross’s goose even though he is fairly small in the frame. Not only is an obvious break in the pattern of canada’s, but his more alert posture also immediately identifies him as the subject.
Though the photo gives the appearance of an unbroken flock of Canada geese, it actually took a lot of playing around with angles and perspectives to create this image. Two more geese in any direction and you’d have dirt, ice, or open water in the margins.

I like it. It’s a nice metaphor for individuality.

This is eye catching. Impressive that you were able to focus (both you and the camera) on this bird to capture this moment, in what must have been an absolute kaleidoscope of activity. Image to be proud of.
