A very cooperative marsh belts out his song perched atop a cattail. This wren was singing only about 15 feet from the trail, and stayed put for 10-15 minutes before moving off. I got a lot of images of this bird, but this wide cropped one ended up being my favorite. The blurry greens of the cattails almost look like they show the motion of the reeds, with the bird coming out into focus as they reeds shift. Which is very typical of marsh wrens, so I think this image does a very good job of showing the character of the bird and its habitat.
