Trying to get started processing images now that we are back from Scotland. Going all the way back to Vietnam. This is a Java (or Chinese) Pond Heron. Very common in Vietnam, they can be seen everywhere. Sometimes, like this in wetland/rivers, but other times in front yards of houses. Not a very colorful bird, but I thought this one was in a beautiful setting. Check out the water lily pad it is standing on. The background, IMO, is as much of a star in this image as is the Heron.
