I recently bought a used Nikon 500mm PF lens to take the place of my Tamron 150-600mm zoom lens. Autofocus was always spotty with the Tamron and the Nikon lens is at least one pound lighter which is easier on my arthritic thumb. I thought the Nikon did a good job of focusing on the hummingbird on the move to my feeder. Even 1/2000th of a second wasn’t fast enough to prevent blurring of the wings.
