A couple weeks ago, I spent a week in California, birding with 4 of my birding buddies. We started birding as soon as we got our rental car. One of our stops before getting to our AirBNB, was Pescadero State Beach. We were lucky that the tide was low when we arrived. Lots of shorebirds, including the Wandering Tattler, which was even on my radar as a possible bird to see. The Tattler reminds we of a Spotted Sandpiper, as it bobs it tail as it hunts. Just goes to show, you never know what you’ll see while out birding.
