Barn owl

Ever go birding and see a bird that wasn’t even on your radar? Well, this was one of those times. While hiking out in California with some friends, this Barn Owl flew over us and landed in a tree right near the trail. I think a Red shouldered Hawk scared him from his original perch, which we didn’t see, because right before we saw this owl, the hawk flew from his perch into the woods. It’s all about being at the right place at the right time.
