Contest – White-tailed Ptarmigan

We were outside at Loveland Pass: 12,000 ft elevation, 20 degrees F, 20 MPH winds, snow, ice…cold! We hiked only a few hundred yards before the bird was spotted across the valley. Incredibly, it flew very close to us and I was able to get several shots!
