White-winged Dove

We saw this bird on October 27, 2018 in Oak Grove Sanctuary, Cameron County, Louisiana. We took a short field trip with FieldGuides to Louisiana for the Yellow Rails and Crawfish Tails tour.

I do not know the specifics of the encounter with this dove. I do like the fact that I captured a photo in flight with the extended wing and flared tail that shows the markings.
