Red-headed Woodpeckers for many years were very hard to find in Ottawa County, MI. After bug infestations and high water that killed a lot of trees, they have had a comeback. For a few years now they have been nesting in dead trees right next to the trail at Stu Visser Trails. The sun intensified the head of this adult to show its vibrant red head.
