This bird looks similar to the female house sparrow or the olive baked pipit it took sometime to find the right name finally found that that it is a tree pipit. I spotted this bird at Adulse Pali Maharashtra India.
Tree pipit is a small passerine that breeds in most of Europe and far east it has medium to long tail, the nest is on ground building a cup of dry grass. They are called pipit because the English word pipit seems onomatopoeic, reminiscent of the call of many pipit species, however it is derived from the latin pipio meaning to peep. There are 40 species of pipits around the world.
Tree pipit eggs are 4-6 brownish in color with darker spots, the female incubates the eggs for 14 days both parents feed the chicks for another 14 days before they fledge. They mainly feed on insects and are usually seen in grassy areas.
