Again, tis the time of year to review the past. For me, that means not just 2025, but beyond. Maybe I am just frustrated at not having any new images to process, but I am going all the way back to 2022. Remember COVID? Deb and I spent a lot of time in SE Arizona during that time. Very few other people. This shot is one I took then. This is a female Pyrrhuloxia. Sometimes referred to a “Desert Cardinal”, they have powerful beaks to crack seeds or tear fruits and berries apart. This is a “set up” shot. I hung the pyracantha berries in hopes that I could get the birds in flight as they plucked the berries. Unfortunately I did not hang the berries high enough; she simply stretched up to get them. BG has been darkened and slightly blurred (it was really “busy).
