Over the next few days will post a few more of the Hooded Merganser images I took recently. As I mentioned, during the 2 hours I was sitting at the pond, there was little action between the birds. Disappointing, but the lighting was good and eventually the birds did come close enough to give some decent opportunities. This one is a little different. The birds rest with their beaks tucked behind a wing, I presume to conserve body heat. I waited until his eye was open and visible before I pushed the shutter.
