American Bittern

On New Year’s Day we made a stop at the Orlando Wetlands, which is in Christmas, Florida. Just as we started on the boardwalk we both spotted this American Bittern hunting in the reeds.We stood and watched this difficult to find bird for more than 20 minutes. As families walked by, the bird froze and became impossible to see. After they moved past, it resumed its hunt.
