Sometimes you need a “Plan B”. I went to La Jolla Cove Friday before sunrise. Forecast was for perfect conditions for photographing Brown Pelicans in flight. Clear sunrise, east wind, calm seas. Perfect! Unfortunately no one told the Pelicans. Lots of birds there, but little activity. So I went to plan B. It was low tide about 10:00 AM, so I went to the tide pool area. Bingo! Lots of wading birds in light. Tried to get as low as possible, but the rocks were covered with algae/moss-SLICK! Did as well as I could to get a low POV. First image is a Black Oystercatcher.
