We walked out on the Jetty Park pier among the dozens of people fishing, most with 4 or 5 lines in the water. The south side of the pier is protected from the ocean waves by a stone breakwater that was a popular roost for about 50 Brown Pelicans. The ocean waves crashed on the breakwater and splashed up 10-20 feet. There were several terns flying in the area and this Forster’s Tern repeatedly cruised along the face of the breakwater. I watched as the Tern continued on its course, even though the spray when the waves crashed and splashed.
