Another shot from the La Jolla tidepools last week. Not a colorful bird, but certainly an interesting one to watch as it uses its long beak to probe underneath rocks and in the sand/mud. Looking for small crustaceans or mollusks, it picks them out, tosses them in the air and catches them in its beak. About a 30% crop from top and L. Bright chest feathers brought down slightly.
