I spent a few days last week on a last minute trip to Desert Photo Retreat near Tucson AZ. Great fun! While the number of species I photographed was not great (about 20 different species), the number of individual birds and photo opportunities was terrific. This is the first image I have processed. This is a female Gambel’s Quail, a bird that makes its living in the harshest desert environments. Because it lives in the desert, a sure way to draw these birds in close is to provide water.

Thanks for looking and commenting. She was cooperative enough that I was able to get a number of images, each with a slightly different Composition.
