Most of the year, Green Herons are quiet and solitary. However, we observed 8-10 squawking and chasing each other through low bushes next to a salt marsh. To top it off, they were in beautiful breeding plumage – I don’t recall ever seeing Green Herons with such beautiful patterns and colors!
