Spring is in the air here in So Cal. At least many of the birds feel it. These are White-faced Ibis; in their world apparently there is a fine line between stalking and courting. The bird on the right, I am assuming a male, chased the one of the left (a female?) for about 5′. Would not let her eat in peace. You can see the splashes where he is jumping after her.
This was taken at San Joaquin Marsh and Wildlife Reserve in Irvine CA. About 75% FF, little processing has been done. I was unable to push the image as far to the left as I would have liked.
