As we walked back to our car at Stu Visser Trails, we spotted this Downy Woodpecker looking for a snack in the Shelf Fungi that grew on a hanging dead branch. Downy Woodpeckers usually are seen clinging to the side of the tree in search of food. This one shows how it is hanging on by its toes slightly poked into the edge of the fungi.
