White Ibis
I had not previously been to the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve and wasn’t sure what to expect. There is a lovely boardwalk that winds its way through cypress woods and pine hammocks, connecting 4 ponds. There weren’t a lot of birds the afternoon I was there, but I found a few White Ibis in breeding plumage that contentedly sat for portraits.
