Great Horned Owl
6 or 7 week old fledgling
First seen on my lawn
I know its age because a deceased nestling was discovered in the exact same spot on March 21st. I could not find the nest tho in the tall white pine above them.
Thx Paul! It was discovered late in the afternoon as the light was getting low. The Samsung cel that I was using, s26 Ultra, was purchased just the day before! I’ve seen ~80 species of birds here but this was the most fascinating sighting!
