It’s always tough for me to select images to enter into a contest. It’s especially challenging on the GBPs website, because I always add my best photos to My Flock and those previously posted images cannot be used in the contests. So when Mike announced the Water Contest, I really had to scour my photo album for qualifying images. Thankfully with digital photos, I always take multiple images of a subject (sometimes 20 per second, trying to capture the best pose and lighting…) and I don’t always delete the extras, leaving quite a few candidates for the Water Contest.
I came across this photo in my search. It was taken on a Florida beach with my iPhone during the Pandemic when we couldn’t travel to exotic locations for life birds. I wouldn’t really consider it a Great Bird Pic, except for the subject is a very rare specimen with two beaks!
(Think Sasquatch or the Florida Skunk Ape!)
