This is the time of year I lament the loss of the “winter ducks” here in So Cal. They have all gone north and won’t return for another 5-6 months. Certainly reduces my choices when I am deciding on where to go on a photography expedition locally. Here is one from last winter. This was taken within a few minutes of sunrise-literally golden light. The last was taken an hour later. This is virtually FF as these ducks came very close as I was sitting in the water with the camera mounted on a tripod inches above the water
