Osprey

One Frame Before Splashdown!

Was filming shorebirds along the beach at The Point at Cape Henlopen State Park when the opportunity finally presented itself for capturing an osprey (my spark bird!) in the final moment of its dive from a good angle! This image was one frame before it hit the water and you can see its nictitating membrane halfway covering its eye in the shot.
